Monday morning upon entering the classroom Mlle. Tosh did not let us sit on chairs. She then asked the class what we have done to deserve the right to sit and get a free education while other kids our age, around the world, have to work and take care of their families. She may have had a point! As a class, we discussed how most of our rights and freedoms came from other people risking their lives for us. Mlle Tosh also pointed out that many students from our class had parents who were from other countries and chose to live in Canada for a better life. Prior to Remembrance Day, Sana and Amber made a wreath out of the poppies that our class had created by tracing their hands and writing meaningful words on poppies. It was to symbolize a pledge to support and remember the soldiers lost and still fighting for a better Canada. On the 11th of November 2014 it was Remembrance Day. Mlle Tosh collected donations and gave the class their poppies. The school had an assembly to thank the Canadian soldiers that risked their lives for our freedom. During the assembly Sana and Isla brought the wreath to the front of the gym and placed it onto the floor in front of a memorial display. During the day the class did some Remembrance Day activities like our French booklets where we explained how we were thankful for the soldiers fighting for us and what Remembrance Day really meant to us. Mlle Tosh recorded us, individually sharing our answers and compiled a class video. She was very proud of the class' answers and contributions. By Sana & Natalie - Did you hear that? I just heard farting sounds.

Friday’s Day Friday was an amazing day! We ate lots of treats and had tons of fun in class because it was Halloween. We could finally dress up after 6 YEARS of no costumes at Warnica. WOOHOO! In the morning, we made groups and picked one person of to dress up as a mummy using toilet paper. Maddy’s group did the best wrapping and one of the groups used dental floss because they did not have enough toilet paper. Poor Nick! For the next activity, we had to pick a partner and Mlle Tosh gave us a balloon to decorate as a monster. The objective of this game was to step on the opponent’s monster, while being tied to your partner. We were hopping around like crazy. For the next block, Mlle Tosh split us up, so half of our class went to Miss Moore’s class and half of Miss Moore’s class came to our class. In Miss Moore class we played spooky bingo in French. In Mlle Tosh’s class we had a ‘French-Art-Halloween-Group Competition’. Miss Tosh gave us chart paper and we had to draw as many French images related to Halloween to accumulate the most points. The pictures were really creative and it was fun to work with Miss Moore’s students. At lunch we had a little party. Mlle Tosh and some of the students from our class brought in some Halloween themed treats to devour while we watched the movie Casper. We still continued the exchange but switched it. The people that were at Miss Moore’s class before lunch came to Miss Tosh’s class and vise versa. After the competition, it was period 4 and we had surprise within a surprise. IT WAS MISS ROBATILLE! Miss Robitaille came to visit us. She told us that she just recently celebrated her 30th birthday and that she was really excited because she got engaged less then a week ago. We started watching a short movie, Toy story of terror in FRENCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had another little party but this time we watched Funny videos. We also ate Timbits. Towards the end of the day the Halloween dance took place. There were 2 awesome DJs (Ethan and Matej). Ethan was a funny hotdog. The dance was awesome! Before we went home and we got candybags from Mlle Tosh and Mlle Moore to start off our trick-or-treating early. THE END Written by: Quinn and Ali |
