Our school is holding a food drive until the end of the month.
Last Thursday our donations went from about 6 donations to 80 items since Mlle. Tosh offered us an extension on our math project if we brought in 3 non-perishable items.
Most of us took her up on that offer.
Another exciting event is the film festival we recently attended.
The film was called Just Eat it. It was about a young Vancouver couple who set a goal to only eat wasted food for six months. Most of us thought it was about people digging through dumpsters for 6 months but a lot of it was just buying the unwanted food at grocery stores.
The film was very interesting and showed us a lot about what happens to our food after it is on the shelves. Over all the couple achieved their goal and proved to all of us that we need to value our food.
We could say that this food related documentary had no margarine for error.
