Pour commencer l'année 2015 sur le bon pied les années 7 ont réfléchi sur les moments les plus mémorables de 2014 et ils ont créés quelques résolutions pour 2015.
The Barrie Colts came to Warnica today to inspire us.
It was really cool to hear about how they balance their academic and their passion for hockey. The game they played at the end was pretty funny. Who knew they were huge fans of Taylor Swift and One Direction? Haha Warnica recently had a character assembly to recognize specific students outstanding behaviour. The character awards were based on the traits; courage and empathy. Our class decided to have a vote on who we think should receive these awards. The winner for empathy was... *drum roll* Laura! The winner for courage was… *drum roll* Isla! The assembly was holiday themed for all grades! Our class nominees received their awards and got to take a picture with the reindeer from the schools Christmas play. This month’s character trait is HONESTY! So remember, be honest to others and include everyone! By Isla and Laura!! K Hello class,
If you copy & paste the following link in your browser, you will have access to the pdf version of the autobiography we are reading and studying in class. A Long Way Gone Memoirs of a Boy Soldier Written by Ishmael Beah PDF link: http://bisteachers.cratercomets.com/sinks_jeremy/literature/a_long_way_gone/aLongWayGoneMemoirsBoySoldier.pdf Good luck & enjoy! It all started one weekend, when all through the school, our teacher was gathering supplies that looked ‘oh, so very cool’ She hung the stalkings on our fireplace with care, in hopes that the children would leave them there The garland was taped on the shelves with delight, in hope that it would stay there all through the night As you read this poem we hope that you can tell, that and classroom was decorated extraordinarily well Our generous teacher added an extra touch. She let us decorate a tree “oh so lush!” Two girls had an idea for the class that would not fail, and it required that our class pick names out of a pale They were told to buy a gift for that name, and a secret that name must remain December 15th we opened our gifts, joy and laughter was more than a bit Our holiday classroom was super jolly and fun, since we all knew Christmas break was soon to come All in all, our Secret Santa was beyond great, but we have to sign off now, or else we’ll be late By: Charlie and Meghan (the two girls) Last Friday, December 12th, our school had a multicultural day.
Students from our class did a fantastic job presenting different their cultures and countries. We learn about our fellow students’ backgrounds from Pakistan, Portugal, Brazil, England, Jamaica, Columbia, Macedonia Romania, El Salvador, Scotland and French-Canada (Quebec city). Some of the presentations included traditional clothing, food, pictures and music. Even our teacher Mlle. Tosh decided to join the fun with a presentation based on her travels and experiences with different cultures. She has traveled to over 20+ different countries and lived in 2 other countries outside of North America. It was a fun day and everyone did a great job. Thank you to all students (and teacher) who participated. Let’s work to be even better next year! - Caroline G. Last Friday, the class planned a hand full of surprises for Mlle Tosh since it was her birthday.
The day started off, by some students sneaking in the classroom before school to decorate with the help of Mlle Moore and Mr Perry. In the mean time, the office staff was distracting Mlle Tosh. As Mlle Tosh entered the class she was EXTREMELY SURPRISED to see and hear everyone. She was so caught off guard that she almost had an accident. The class really outdid themselves, there were streamers, noise makers, blow horns, balloons, cards, cake, cookies, and gifts. None of which Mlle Tosh expected. " What a surprise! I can not thank my students enough for making me feel so special. Your continuous generosity is outstanding and I am extremely grateful for all your efforts. I feel so honoured to be able to teach you all. This has been one of my best birthdays ever, thank you!" - Mlle Tosh |
